Resident Jeri Burkow moved into CEDC's Paseo Santa Clara apartments in Oxnard in June 2009.

She says she is thrilled to have her own one-bedroom apartment. "It's really great to live here,' says Jeri, one of 24 special needs residents who live in the community. Previously, Jeri shared a home with others because she couldn't afford her own place and the home's couch doubled as her bed at night. "I had no privacy before. Now, I even have my own washer and dryer."

Paseo Santa Clara features a total of 140 apartment homes for individuals who earn 20-50 percent of the area median income as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
