Edwin, who has been with Cabrillo EDC for six years, works at Paseo Del Rio Apartments in Oxnard, where he has become a trusted and respected presence. His journey into property management reflects both resilience and purpose, shaped by a strong commitment to service and helping others succeed.

After beginning his career in the construction industry nearly a decade ago, Edwin faced challenges finding steady work during the recession. Motivated to make a meaningful change, he joined an organization focused on housing and services for individuals experiencing homelessness. He began in a cleaning position and worked his way up to assistant and eventually property manager – bringing with him a strong work ethic and a passion for helping others.

What drew Edwin to this field – and what continues to guide his work – is the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives. “I like being able to help people achieve financial stability,” he shares.

Property managers like Edwin play a critical part in ensuring that residents not only have a safe and stable place to live but also feel supported and connected within their communities. From maintaining high-quality housing to building relationships with residents and coordinating with service teams, his work helps create an environment where individuals and families can thrive.

Edwin approaches his role with a strong people-first mindset, prioritizing both service and respect in every interaction. “I enjoy what I do, and I enjoy providing that service,” he says. “I’m passionate about helping people.” Whether assisting residents with day-to-day needs or contributing to the overall well-being of the community, Edwin takes pride in being someone residents can rely on.

At the heart of Edwin’s work is his belief in giving back. “If someone has helped you, you should help someone else,” he explains. This philosophy shapes how he approaches his role each day, reminding him that even small actions can have a meaningful impact. He understands that stable housing can be life-changing, and he is committed to doing his part to ensure residents feel supported on their journey.

“I’m excited about continuing to grow within my career at Cabrillo EDC,” he says. “I’m motivated to continue learning, strengthening my skills, and expanding my ability to serve residents and my team.”
