Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation (Cabrillo EDC) established the Rodney Fernandez Leadership Fund in 2011 to honor Rodney Fernandez, Cabrillo EDC’s Founder and Executive Director for 30 years.

The Fund continues Rodney Fernandez’s legacy of community building by cultivating the leadership capacity of Cabrillo EDC residents to attain their goals, empower themselves to take action and improve the quality of life in their communities.

Scholarships from the Rodney Fernandez Leadership Fund are funded through grants, corporate donations, and individual donations. A scholarship review panel determines award amounts based on annual donations received.

Students attending trade school, community colleges, 4 year colleges, and university in all majors are encouraged to apply.
